FAQ - Answers to frequently asked questions
I don't speak Norwegian, can I still get a job in Norway?
Yes, probably. Recruiters in Norway will search for talent who are able to fill the skills shortage. Speaking Norwegian will help considerably but it is not a prerequisite especially in the Oil and Gas industry.
Am I allowed to work in Norway?
Generally speaking, all foreign workers will require a work permit in order to work legally in Norway. You will need to visit your local police 'Politi' station in order to organize this.
Note to people from the EEA. You are allowed to live and work in Norway for up to 3 months without a permit or up to 6 months if you are seeking employment. The best thing to do is go to your local police station and get the process started straight away since you can legally start working from the point you submit your application form.
