An independent Norwegian E&P company are currently looking for a talented Sedimentologist to join their G&G office in Oslo.
Their portfolio of work includes Exploration, Appraisal, and Development projects on the NCS (Norwegian Continental Shelf) alongside new work won through licencing rounds. Already pre-qualified as an NCS licensee, operator status should be gained during 2009/2010.

The sedimentologist will act as the focal point for reservoir characterization and depositional analysis of deposits.
A major part of this function will be to advise and provide direct support to asset and study teams regarding the understanding and interpretation of depositional environments and sequences, basin fill history and reservoir quality.
In addition to the advisory and support function, the role of the focal point is to ensure that depositional models and reservoir characterization are of high quality and consistency.
QC work may either be part of the integrated team work, informal technical reviews or formal risk and resource assessments. As member of the G&G Group, you are expected to actively work to establish, develop and maintain contacts to external service providers & consultants.
* Enthusiastic and strong team player with good communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate others.
* Solid theoretical background in sedimentology and reservoir characterization with a relevant experience to take on a Senior level role.
* Broad and firm experience from a variety of depositional settings and basins.
* Knowledge of petrography and reservoir quality prediction.
* Ability to work independently with 2D and 3D seismic interpretation.
* Interest in innovative technology detection, development and implementation.
* Ability to communicate fluently in both written and spoken English. Norwegian language skills are advantageous. |
